This page is dedicated to My Linux Experience using Mandriva Linux. I am not a programmer. I can't write code. I just like to do a little photo and video editing of my home movies and pictures, and I want to support the development of operating systems that compete with Microsoft, whom I believe have an unhealthy monopoly that stifles creativity. 

A plethora of software is freely available for the Linux user so that person wants for little. There is video and graphics editing, web hosting, instant messaging; you name it, all available through the kind generosity of code writers around the world who come together as a community to provide for the rest of us. Thank you all.

I believe the US federal government let down the public when the Antitrust Court allowed Microsoft to keep their monopoly. I also believe the judgment handed down by the court actually enhanced their monopoly rather than limited it.

I believe that competition is the surest way to bring the best of anything to the public at the cheapest price, so, I encourage competition among operating systems by lending support to others were I can. For me, Apple is out, because I would have to buy another computer to use it. Linux is the only potential competitor out there. My favorite distro is Mandriva. The have a good product.

I have become a paying Mandriva subscriber to help and intend to donate to others in the future to encourage more development. I hope you do too.
